This first-person account of a trip to Yosemite describes some of its outstanding features including giant sequoias, Glacier Point, Cathedral Range, Tenaya Lake, and Tioga Pass.



Glacier Point - [Point, as seen from Yosemite Valley]. In springtime, this cliff face is covered with dozens of freshets and tiny waterfalls from the snowmelt.

Mellor Glacier - Mellor Glacier () is a tributary glacier, flowing northnortheast between Mount Newton and Mount Maguire and coalescing with Collins Glacier just prior to junction with Lambert Glacier at Patrick Point, in the Prince Charles Mountains. It was mapped from air photos taken by ANARE (Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions) in 1956.

Keltie Glacier - Keltie Glacier () is a large Antarctic glacier, 48 km (30 mi) long, draining from Pain Névé southwest around the southern extremity of the Commonwealth Range, and then northwest to enter Beardmore Glacier at Ranfurly Point.

Branscomb Glacier - The Branscomb Glacier () is an Antarctic glacier, 9.5 km (6 mi) long, flowing west from the NW side of Vinson Massif (the highest point in Antarctica) into Nimitz Glacier, in the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains.

To the north of Yosemite contains beautiful areas, such as Mount Conness. Settler Galen Clark discovered the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia in Wawona in 1856 and in 1864 he became the first guardian of the law is said to have led to John Muir's death (from despair).
